SAARC HAVEER 2009 - BHUTAN

 “SAARC Haveeru”, coastal awareness in a non-coastal country has been successfully held in Thimphu, Bhutan as part of the Children and Youth Festival organized by the Department of Youth and Sport, Ministry of Education from 5-7 of July 2009. The event was inaugurated by the princess, Her Royal Highness Ashi Chimi Yangzom Wangchuk and school children from twenty Dzongkhags of Bhutan participated in the event.

 Furthermore, different exhibits and models of coastal problems were displayed in the stalls and various educational awareness activities were arranged throughout the events. The event was concluded by the Prime Minister of Bhutan His Excellency Mr. Lyonchen Jigme Y. Thinley.
